Jack Saumby, our President and Chairman of the Board, graduated from Hobart College in 1975. After a year of graduate school in business, he worked for Honeywell in outside sales. Jack later became a partner in a building maintenance company in Houston, Texas, learning the details of the cleaning business.

In 1987, Jack and his wife, Marcy, moved to Charlotte and established Maintenance World (now a Mint Condition franchisee). Through their hard work, personal qualities and commitment to strong values, the Saumbys built their business into a highly respected enterprise with over 120 employees in a short time. Jack realized that to grow further, he needed to get employees more involved and committed to the business.

The answer was simple. Jack gave his employees the opportunity to tap into the same motivation that drove him - the chance to "be your own boss" through franchising his successful business model. In 1996, he launched Mint Condition Franchising, Inc. specializing in office cleaning. The first set of franchisees came from his employee base. Since then, many others have been attracted to Mint Condition's values and performance. Mint Condition handles training, accounting and marketing out of corporate headquarters so franchisees can focus on what they do best - taking care of their customers' office cleaning needs on a day-to-day basis.
